Greece: Struggle for survival and dignity in Corinth prisons

Lately (during the last three months) there has been an intense problem with food supply in Corinth prisons, where 84 inmates are obliged to live under circumstances incompatible with any notion of human dignity. Specifically (and according to information confirmed even by the prison administration), the inmates are literally malnourished ever since the nearby military camp stopped supplying food to the prisons. The problem, which grows worse each day, has been dealt with through “charity” so far, mostly by the prison staff but also through solidarity groups that have been made aware of the problem.

Come let’s go and don’t look back….Only fire will cleanse this place…..”

COLOMBIA: SE PRONUNCIAN LOS HABITANTES DEL PATIO 10 DE LA CARCEL DE BELLAVISTA MEDELLIN

Hoy en el patio 10 de la cárcel de Bellavista en Medellín, cuya población  está constituida principalmente por adultos mayores, se hace oír la voz de la denuncia, ya que hace más de 15 días no reciben atención médica por parte de la EPS Caprecom y lo más preocupante es que no hay provisión de los medicamentos necesarios para tratar los enfermos de VIH, tuberculosis entre otros,  los cuales constituyen la población en mayor grado de vulnerabilidad dentro de la cárcel.

Solidaridad Ante El juicio Por Desobediencia A Preso En Lucha

Este martes día 29 a las 10h de la mañana se realizará a los juzgados de Lleida un juicio de faltas contra el compañero actualmente preso en el CP Ponent, por desobediencia a la autoridad. Los hechos sucedieron el pasado 16 de marzo cuando Juankar se encontraba en las celdas de aislamiento. Un grupo de carceleros entraron y le apalearon como represalia por su implicación en la campaña contra las torturas en las prisiones. Su denuncia por tortura no ha sido acumulada al mismo procedimiento.

Ahora, se tiene que enfrentar a un juicio contra él, sin una investigación previa de los hechos y sin que el médico forense lo haya visitado. Pedimos la máxima difusión posible de esta información y convocamos a la concentración de apoyo que se realizará a las puertas de los juzgados de Lleida a las 9h el próximo martes día 29.

en es – Report Back From 5/24 Juvenile Detention Center Noise Demo

On Thursday, May 24th, a group of approximately 70 people participated in a noise-demo outside of the King County Juvenile Detention Center. Prior to this, a public meeting was held down the street from the detention center. The meeting was a panel discussion on permanently closing the jail and an open forum for ideas regarding strategy and intention. Nearly 200 people attended this widely publicized event and while they were gathered together, over 20 cruisers were mobilized to surround the meeting hall in an attempt to intimidate the organizers and future participants.
