Fascist Attacks (greece)

“Athens Racist Attack” – reelnews reports

From reelnews:

At 3am in the morning of Tuesday, 12 June 2012, a horrific racist act of terror unfolded in a quiet Athens suburb. At 3am several motorbikes with passengers descended on a quiet street in the Perama neighbourhood of Pireaus. They began to vandalise vehicles belonging to some Egyptian fisherman staying in a house on the street. The racists then tried to force their way into the house throwing an explosive device through the broken glass of the front door. Inside the occupants managed to hold the attackers off by stopping them from forcing the doors and windows open.

Sadly one of the fishermen was asleep on the roof of the building when the assault happened. 24-year-old Abouz Mubarek was beaten almost to death where he lay. His keys, cigarettes and bloodstained bedding still lay where he had beaten when we arrived at the scene this afternoon. Despite this being a clear case of attempted murder there were no Police present or forensic specialists examining the scene. The Police have arrested six individuals though they are making the outrageous claim that this was not at ‘organised’ attack.

If that is the case then how do they explain how the three cars and vans that were smashed only belonged to the Egyptians? The use of explosives? The time of day? The fact that racist violence involving gangs using motorbikes bears all the hallmarks of well-documented actions by Golden Dawn activists?

Also on the same afternoon, Golden Dawn members threatened an Egyptian family in a square a few miles from the scene. They were told that “if the fishermen made a statement” then every Egyptian in the area “would be killed.“

Exactly where to these thugs get such detailed information on who is who in the migrant community? It also seems a staggering coincidence that one of the fishermen had taken part in an anti racist TV film. Anti fascists are planning some some kind of response to the attack this coming Saturday.

Neonazi thugs of the Golden Dawn break into the house of Egyptian fishermen in the working class district of Perama, heavily injuring one

At dawn on June 12th, a group of approximately 20 neonazi thugs of the Golden Dawn broke into the house of four Egyptian fishermen in the working class district of Perama, near Athens. The thugs stormed the house, trashed it inside, broke the fishermen’s car parked outside and heavily injured one of them who they discovered sleeping in the top floor (pic).

A little while later, six individuals (five men and one woman) where spotted on a highway nearby by the police, recognised by the migrants and they have now been arrested. The police has so far refused to reveal the identity of those arrested.

Trial of nazi MP Kasidiaris postponed, once again

This morning, the trial of Nazi MP Ilias Kasidiaris (for his participation in the attack against a University of Athens professor in 2007, not for the events of last week) was once again postponed – for the third time.
This time round the trial was postponed for the 3d of September, as Kasidiaris’ lawyer claimed to be away from Athens. Meanwhile, in a spectacular twist of logic, Kasidiaris is now suing both the MPs that he assaulted… for assault.

Nazi thug MP Kasidiaris still on the loose as anti-nazi demonstrations are called around Greece

Ilias Kasidiaris, the Nazi MP for Golden Dawn who physically assaulted two female MPs on air last morning is still on the loose, waiting for the expiration of the deadline of the so-called autoforo (where the perpetrator of a crime is arrested on the scene).

The police claim to have been “unable” to trace the thug, despite the fact that tens of witnesses confirm he entered the Golden Dawn HQ minutes after the attack and stayed there.

Meanwhile, leftist organisations are calling for anti-nazi and anti-fascist gatherings in cities across Greece:

In Athens, 7pm at Omonoia square.
In Thessaloniki, 6pm at the Venizelos statue.
In Patras, 7pm at Georgiou Square.
In Heraclion, 6.30pm at the Lions Square
In Rethimnon, 7pm at the town hall
In Gianenna, 6pm at the Academy
In Alexandroupolis, 7pm at the town hall

Neither in the Parliament, nor anywhere: Fascists out of every neighbourhood. Demonstration against the nazi attacks, Friday 8th of June @7pm

Ilias Kasidiaris is currently hiding in the Golden Dawn HQ in Athens following assault on two female left-wing reporters — witnesses

Ilias Kasidiaris, the Nazi who physically attacked two left-wing MPs on air in the morning of June 7th (see video below) is currently hiding in the HQ of his party, Golden Dawn. Witnesses saw him entering the building, cheered on by approximately 50 members of his criminal gang. Kasidiaris is believed to be trying to buy himself time and to allow the 24-h deadline for the so-called autoforo (where the perpetrator of a crime is arrested on the scene). The deadline for his immediate arrest would be at midnight tomorrow.

It is known that Kasidiaris is currently in the Golden Dawn HQ (source, greek) and the police are currently defying the attorney’s orders for his immediate arrest.

Perhaps unsurprisingly so. At the May 6th elections, one in two members of the police force voted for Golden Dawn.
