In particolare questa volta riguarda un client web per l'instant messaging, di cui potete trovare la documentazione qui: http://www.autistici.org/it/stuff/man_jabber/index.html Gia', perche' forse non lo sapete, ma se avete una mail su A/I avete anche un account Jabber, ovvero potete utilizzare un protocollo di instant messaging come gtalk su gmail usando lo stesso protocollo libero (XMPP). Inoltre da oggi nella webmail (in basso a destra) vedrete comparire un riquadro con i vostri contatti jabber e potrete chattare con loro direttamente dai server di A/I. Le funzionalita' dell'applet sono limitate e ancora in via di definizione, per cui a breve potrete notare cambiamenti nel suo funzionamento. Importante: per aggiungere nuovi contatti o per usi piu' avanzati dovrete usufruire di un client o della nuova interfaccia web JAPPIX https://jabber.autistici.org/ E' importante che ricordiate pero' che il modo piu' anonimo e sicuro di usare Jabber e' la modalita' OTR (Off-The-Record) presente solo in alcuni client, ad esempio pidgin (linux / windows) o adium (osx / windows). Sull'interfaccia web avrete la protezione di una normale connessione SSL (https), che offre un livello di privacy purtroppo oggidi' insoddisfacente. RESET PASSWORD LISTE NEL PANNELLO UTENTE ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Giusto perche' lo sappiate tutt*: se avete una mail con A/I e siete amministratori di una lista, da oggi potete resettare la vostra password di amministrazione direttamente dal pannello utente, grazie a un link proprio di fianco alla sezione del pannello relativa alla lista che amministrate. 10x100 - ADERISCI ALLA CAMPAGNA PER I 10 DI GENOVA 2001 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ La gestione dell'ordine pubblico nei giorni del G8 genovese del luglio del 2001 rappresenta una ferita ancora oggi aperta nella storia recente della repubblica italiana. Dieci anni dopo non solo non sono stati individuati i responsabili, ma chi gesti' l'ordine pubblico a Genova ha condotto una brillante carriera. Mentre lo Stato assolve se stesso da quella che Amnesty International ha definito "la piu' grande sospensione dei diritti democratici in un paese occidentale dopo la seconda guerra mondiale", il prossimo 13 luglio 10 persone rischiano di vedersi confermare una condanna a 100 anni di carcere complessivi, in nome di un reato, "devastazione e saccheggio", che rappresenta uno dei tanti detriti giuridici figli del codice penale fascista. Un reato concepito nel chiaro intento, tutto politico, di perseguire chi si opponeva al regime. Oggi viene utilizzato ipotizzando una "compartecipazione psichica", anche quando non sussiste associazione vera e propria tra le persone imputate. In questo modo si lascia alla completa discrezionalita' politica degli inquirenti e dei giudici il compito di decidere se applicarlo o meno. L'assemblea di supporto ai e alle 10 di Genova 2001 ha lanciato una campagna per impedire che dopo dieci anni la storia di Genova 2001 finisca in questo modo. On the 30th May we have published, both in Italian bookshops and online, a book on the first 10 years of our history. It is entitled "+Kaos - 10 anni di mediattivismo e hacking" ("More Chaos - 10 years of hacking and media activism"), and at the moment it's only in Italian. But we are trying to find a way to translate it at least into English, and possibly into more languages. In particular, this one is a web client for the instant messaging service that is documented here: http://www.autistici.org/it/stuff/man_jabber/index.html As you may actually know, every A/I mailbox comes with a Jabber account. This allows you to communicate through an instant messaging protocol like gtalk on gmail, using the same free protocol (XMPP). As you may have noticed in the last few days, now when you access your webmail you see in the right bottom corner of the window a box with your jabber buddies, and you can chat with them directly on our servers. The functionalities of this applet are still limited and in development, so something may change in the near future. Please note that if you want to add more buddies or use the service at an advanced level, you should use a normal client or the new JAPPIX web interface https://jabber.autistici.org/ However, you should bear in mind that the most secure and anonymous way to use Jabber is the OTR (Off-The-Record) modality offered only by certain clients, e.g. pidgin (linux/windows) or adium (osx/windows). The web interface offers the protection granted by a normal SSL (https) connection, which unfortunately does not grant a sufficient degree of privacy. RESET YOUR MAILING LIST PASSWORD FROM YOUR USER PANEL ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You may want to know that if you have a mail account with A/I and you manage a list in our servers, you can now reset your admin password directly from the user panel, through the link you'll find next to the name of the list in the mailing list section of the panel. 10x100 - GENOA 2001 IS NOT OVER +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The public order policing during the days of the G8 in Genoa back in July 2001 is an open wound in the recent history of the Italian republic. Ten years after, those responsible have not been identified. Moreover, those in charge of the public order operation throughout the event went onto lead distinguished careers. While the State absolves itself from what Amnesty International has called "the biggest suspension of democratic rights in a Western country since the Second World War", on the 13th of July 2012 the Supreme Court may confirm the sentences of ten scapegoats, expected to total one hundred years in prison. The alleged crime is that of "Destruction and Looting", which is one of the many legal legacies of the penal code of the fascist regime. The law itself was designed with a clear political intention to prosecute those who opposed the fascist regime. Today it is mainly used to infer a common purpose (what it is called in italian "psycological participation"), even where there is no real association between those charged. This means that the decision as to whether or not to convict is down to the discretion of the police and judges. Ten years on, we cannot allow the story of Genoa to end in this way.
